You’ll find that this type of insulation is available in batts or rolls and most commonly known as aerolite insulation. When you install them, they need to be place in the cavity of the wall or between the floor joists. You must be careful when you work with this type for safety reasons. To be safe, it’s important to where a dust mask so that the particles don’t affect your breathing abilities. You should also wear clothing that can protect and cover your skin. The advantage of fiberglass is that it has a high fire rating. The disadvantages of fiberglass is that it’s not easy to work with and it’s bad for you lungs if you breathe it in.

Polyester Home Insulation Tips

You will find that out of all the insulation types, this product is the most eco-friendly material of them all. Polyester insulation does not contain fiberglass or any chemicals that could be harmful to you. Another great advantage about polyester is that it is made from recycled plastic bottles that would otherwise be sent to dump sites. Plastic, as we all know, can take hundreds of years to break down on its own. So the fact that home insulation is now being made out of these recycled plastic bottles is great for our environment. Its killing two birds with one stone. You don’t need to wear any protective gear while working with any of the polyester insulation products.

Also called foam boards, they are frequently used for home insulation since they resist water well.  This type is also used for exterior wall insulation as well as under the siding of a home. It seals tightly and if you know what you’re doing, it’s fast and easy.
